Development of an innovative data security system for biotechnology and diagnostic laboratories based on blockchain technology

Regional Operational Programme for Małopolska for the years 2014-2020

In 2008, Satoshi Nakamoto published the article "Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System." This document describes the cryptographic mechanisms that underlie the cryptocurrency Bitcoin, which is still in use today. A description of blockchain technology, which is a distributed account book for the new currency, appears in the article. The blockchain mechanism is an alternative to traditional banks, in which users decide which transaction to accept while ensuring the confidentiality of those performing the transactions. As the name suggests, blockchain is a technology that uses chains of blocks. The data stored in the blocks is arranged chronologically, and it is impossible to change the data that has gone into the blockchain.

As part of the project, we will conduct research and development work to acquire new knowledge in the use of blockchain mechanisms in securing laboratory and medical data.

The project is co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund.

Value of the project: PLN 322,920.00

Funding value: PLN 247,572.00

Grant agreement number: RPMP.01.02.01-12-0183/18-00

Digital Image Cell Analysis

Smart Growth Operational Programme for the years 2014-2020

Action 1.3: R&D work financed with capital funds. Sub-action 1.3.1: Support for R&D Projects in the preseed phase by proof-of-concept BRIdge Alpha funds.

The business area of diCELLa unlimited is the development of software for the analysis of microscopic images, using the latest machine learning techniques, especially deep neural networks. The main goal of diCELLa is to create software to support diagnosticians and lab technicians in their daily work.

Automated image analysis helps to understand what we see under the microscope and allows us to see things that the human eye cannot see. diCELLa using the latest solutions in artificial intelligence, especially innovative approach in machine learning based on deep neural networks (deep learning) creates software that understands the analyzed images. We base our solutions on the knowledge and experience of our team members, cooperation with leading scientific laboratories, and results published in top scientific and industry journals from around the world.

Using our knowledge today, we want to design and implement systems and solutions that will be the standard of tomorrow.

The project is co-financed by the European Union from the European Intelligent Development Fund.

EU funding for the project 800,000.00 PLN
